Protect yourself from the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) with the ASA - CO-Detector. This essential safety device can be a lifesaver, especially for pilots flying with the heater on, by warning of the presence of CO in the cockpit. Carbon monoxide is a toxic, odorless, and tasteless gas produced by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels. Dangerous levels of CO can result from internal combustion engines or poorly vented fuel-burning appliances, leading to sickness, headaches, or even death.

Key Features:

  • Life-Saving Detection: The spot on the detector turns gray-black when CO is present, providing an immediate visual warning. The spot returns to normal color after exposure to fresh air.
  • Portable and Versatile: Can be used as a personal CO detection device. With an adhesive back, it can be stuck on the panel or dash for semi-permanent installation, or worn on an ID badge or lanyard.
  • Long Shelf Life: Unopened detectors have a shelf life of 3 years, as indicated by the expiration date on the package. Once removed from the packaging, the detector will last for 12 months.
  • Multiple Uses: Ideal for use in airplanes, cars, fuel trucks, grass-cutting equipment, tugs, campers, and more.

Caution: The detector will be damaged by the presence of halogens (iodine, chlorine, bromine), ammonia, and nitrous gases. It should not be used near diesel engines. Harsh direct sunlight can bleach out the indicator spot and shorten the useful life of the detector.

Specifications:

  • Detection: Visual color change when CO is present
  • Shelf Life: 3 years unopened, 12 months once opened
  • Installation: Adhesive back for panel/dash mounting or wearable on a lanyard or ID badge
